Interested in Genealogy?
There is a wealth of resources out there. Family Search is a good place to start and it provides free software to get started.
While doing things on an individual basis is reward enough for many people, taking this beyond the individual to include the greater family can be so much more productive and rewarding.
Collaborate
This site uses PHPGedView which allows a family to place their records on the internet and therefore allows collaboration within the family members interested in genealogy.
For those families who would like to participate. They can be setup by contacting this sites owner [jfdouglas2004 at yahoo dot com dot au]. We share the costs of hosting this site which totals about $100USD/year; so if we get several families participating, the costs will be fairly minimal. No profit is being made from this effort. We are looking for between 10 and 15 families. Especially several individuals who would be interested in supporting the administration of this site.
What we get
Currently the family setup comprises
- A Wiki which allows general documentation of each family project (Tikiwiki)
- A Family Tree section (PHPGedView)
